“You did it! Look at all the stars falling around us!” You smile happily as the star shower surrounds you and the normally sleepy seventh born. Your gaze softens as you take in his expression of excitement, a feeling of warmth spreading through your chest. You were disappointed earlier, when the star shower didn’t work. And although he had assured you it was ok, you knew he had felt disappointed too. But it worked. And now it was just the two of you, surrounded by the night sky, filled with falling stars.
“It’s beautiful.” He doesn’t notice that your gaze is on him, his violet-pink hues taking in the sight of the star shower with awe. Your smile doesn’t falter as he speaks, happy that you’re able to see this innocently excited side of him. Eventually, he pulls his gaze away from the star shower, turning to face you instead. The Avatar of Sloth gives you a smile, his arms wrapping around your waist as he pulls you closer to him.
“I love you.” The words are a quiet whisper that falls from his lips as his gaze meets yours. You can see his gratitude, and beyond that you can see the love he holds for you. His emotions sparkle in his eyes like the stars that surround you as you loop your arms around his neck, pulling him down to press your forehead against his, your eyes fluttering shut as you try to figure out a way to ensure that your feelings reach him. You stand there in each other’s embrace for a moment, taking comfort in each other’s warmth when you feel his lips against yours. The kiss is soft, loving. But it was all too brief.
You open your eyes when he pulls away, and he gives you another smile. Without a word, he leans down once more, kissing you lovingly. A silent thank you. And your lips curve into a smile as you return the kiss, a silent message of how much you love him. You briefly hear a sound from the corner of your room, and pull away in confusion, glancing over your shoulder. But there’s nothing. Perhaps you were mistaken? Belphie’s quiet chuckle brings your gaze back to him.
“I’m very happy. Thank you so much.” He pulls away before you can respond, and you look at him with slight confusion. Was he going to rejoin the party already? He gives you a knowing smile as if he read your thoughts, and his hands take yours as he sits on the ground. With a gentle tug, his pulling you into his lap, and you blush slightly as your back rests against his chest. He lets out a content sigh, wrapping his arms around your torso as he presses a kiss to the back of your head.
“Stay with me?” You blush fades as you smile, relaxing in his embrace as you look up to meet his gaze. His gaze, that seemed brighter than any stars, filled with love for you as he awaits your answer. And you know, from the way his expression changes to joy even before you give your answer, that your own gaze is sparkling with your love for him.
“Always.”
